• Or an equivalent qualification at a National Qualifications Framework – NQF Level 4
• Required subjects are English, mathematics/mathematics literacy, and life sciences/biology at 40%.
• Please note: Netcare Education Candidates who have successfully completed a relevant health-related qualification at NQF Level 3 /4 for example as an Auxiliary Nurse (Reg 2176) or NQF Level 4 as an Enrolled Nurse (Reg 2175) and who have met the institutional selection criteria may be granted entry into the diploma program.

Netcare Education and Training offers two (2) nursing programs. Applicants applying to study at Netcare Nursing College will have to select one of the courses offered at the college as their preferred program to study.

Higher Certificate In Nursing (169)

Applicants applying to study Higher Certificate in Nursing at Netcare Education must have these subjects and their respective minimum scores on their matric certificate.

• English (40%)
• Mathematics/Mathematic Literacy (40%) and
• Life Sciences (40%)

Again, the Higher Certificate in Nursing course at Netcare is a full-time 1 Year study program.

Diploma in Nursing – General (171)

Applicants applying to study Diploma in Nursing at Netcare Education must have these subjects and their respective minimum scores on their certificate.

• English minimum 40%
• Mathematics or Mathematic literacy minimum 40%
• Life Sciences minimum 40%
• Computer Literacy at NQF level 3 (three), and
• One other subject with a credit value of 20 (twenty)
  minimum 40% of the designated subject list as outlined in policy 751 of 2008 of the Department of Education.
• Candidates who have completed a relevant health-related qualification at NQF Level 3 (three) or 4 (four), for example as an Auxiliary Nurse (Reg 2176) or NQF Level 4 (four) as an Enrolled Nurse (Reg 2175) and who have met the institutional selection criteria may be granted entry into the diploma program.

Also, the Diploma in Nursing (171) is a full-time three (3) year study course.

Note: Once the online application has been completed and the above documentation received, applicants who meet the requirements will receive confirmation of the date and specific arrangements of the pre-selection assessment from KR Education.
